Our commitment to anti-racism
Systemic racism, discrimination and injustice are a human rights crisis. We vow to continue to be a force and a voice for a more just and equitable world.
EY is taking actions as a US firm to eradicate racism and discrimination by leveraging our influence to drive strategic change in our firm, in the communities where we work, and through public policy.
We’ve made a commitment to sustained action, because building an anti-racist world does not end when the news dies down.
There is no finish line. There is only the work.
Entrepreneurs Access Network
Expanding the EY Entrepreneurs Access Network (EAN), our newly launched program focusing on Black and Latinx entrepreneurs. The program leverages our significant Entrepreneur Of The Year™ platform to help connect EAN participants to peers, sponsors, capital and customers.
Challenging ourselves
Reviewing our internal talent and business practices to further advance equity across race. The practices in scope include Talent Attraction and Acquisition and Talent Development, including onboarding, coaching and counseling, career advancement, and learning and development.
Making social justice investments
EY is proud to support community organizations working to create the just and equitable world in which we all want to live. Since 2020, EY and the Ernst & Young Foundation have invested over $10 million to organizations dedicated to addressing the root causes of inequity, discrimination and/or racism. In order to ensure this giving is sustainable, in 2021 the EY Social Justice Fund was established.
Investing in our communities
Investing in our communities through employee volunteer programs and EY-sponsored anti-racism activities, including declaring August 28, 2020, as a paid day of service for any US professionals participating in the March on Washington, DC commemorating the 57th anniversary of the historic civil rights march. Starting in 2021, EY began observing Martin Luther King (MLK) Jr. Day as a firmwide paid holiday. US professionals can choose to participate in EY-sponsored anti-racism activities throughout the year, including on MLK Day.
Driving policy change
Using our powerful platform to drive policy change as well as lead actions for change in our communities with our vendors and others with whom we do business.
All these actions would be completely disingenuous if we didn’t continue to challenge our own internal efforts. We need to have a different conversation on what it means to have a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture to drive further and faster change. As part of that, we need to look critically at how we recruit, develop, promote and educate our people on what it means to be anti-racist.
